I grew calendula , nigella and sunflowers in the new Tip Out Propagation Trays with the kids and I really enjoyed using them. They are durable and easily washed to keep them disease free overwinter and the rows being stackable take up less space. I also loved being able to see root progress, fascinating. The trays are simple to fill. I found it very easy to remove the seedlings, they simply dropped out intact when the mould was tilted forwards. This made removal very fast and the lack of root disturbance I feel benefitted establishment in the ground or when potted on into a larger container. All in all, a big thumbs up!

John Harrison, a grow your own expert and author of numerous growing guides including The Essential Allotment Guide and The Complete Vegetable Grower has switched from using standard propagation trays to Bustaseed’s Tip Out propagation tray design (John’s website: allotment-garden.org) John reviewed Bustaseed’s Tip Out propagation kits in his December 2019 Newsletter and his thoughts are summarised below: “Where the Bustaseed system really scores is when transplanting. Take the strip, tip it over onto the bench or bed and you’ve five plug plants ready to go in. No fuss, no bother and no damage. I’m really impressed! It’s a big timesaver over conventional modules”.
